We had a wonderful dining experience at a charming family-owned restaurant in Baclayon, Bohol, located near the hostel where we were staying (within walking distance). The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. The servers were attentive and accommodating, helping us with our orders since we were unfamiliar with the menu. We particularly enjoyed the Bam-i noodles and chorizo.
We drove past this restaurant several times without realizing it was there, as it is easy to miss. After reading some reviews, we decided to try out Crescencia. It can be difficult to find a place in the Philippines that serves food cooked with passion, but our experience here was fantastic. The steamed garlic crab with oyster sauce was delicious, and we plan to try making it at home. Our main dishes, fish and chips, and bangsilog, were perfectly cooked. The mango boat dessert was also excellent, so much so that I had to fight my companion for a taste! Additionally, the freshly pressed coffee was a nice touch. The restaurant is located in a charming, old Spanish-style building, which is a rare find in the Philippines. We live about 30 minutes away, but we plan on visiting at least twice a month from now on. We highly recommend giving Crescencia a try.
In a city with many local dining places, but nothing to satisfy 2 teens fight with the 30-degree heats, this was a life-saver. it is a superior coffee shop and has a few gifts, but it is also a stylish and well organized esarea / restaurant. it has a series of “set menus”, but also amazing meeresfruit and Philippino dishes. the calamari was one of the best I have eaten and the crispy crumbs also amazing. we also tried the tuna cerviche we loved, and a local nudel and sweet dish the girls loved. overall it was excellent eating and we spent $1700 php for 4 hungry people including drinks and more eating than we could eat. mango smoothies were amazing, a teenager did not like the icy mocha, but the other.
Early morning, it was so difficult getting a jeepney to Tagbilaran and it was getting late, so Crescencia was just in the perfect spot. : Eggs benedict was very good, pretty much what you'd expect of a good one, with lovely hollandaise sauce. Their Filipino...breakfast was very good too. It would be nicer if they didn't put any sugar, not even a small amount, in their sikwate ... Still, a good place for brunch, coffee.
