It was some of the best salmon (especially smoked) and smashed potato my family and I have ever had. The customer service was incredible and always helpful whether it was about fishing or the food. The atmosphere was great as one could never be too bored and the quality of the salmon caught were also fantastic. Definitely would recommend and would go again. Food was amazing. Best salmon sashimi I’ve ever had- I could’ve had multiple plates of it, and living in Auckland you have a lot of salmon sashimi in restaurants. I wish this was in Auckland. Would come back to Wanaka just for Hook alone. Visited in March 2023 I was sure I left a review, however, ensuring that I do now. What a great experience. I never fished and while fishing, the staff came by and gave advise on what to do. Johnny was an incredible and friendly member of the staff. My wife and I were visiting for our honey moon and were driving from Wanaka to Tekapo. Definitely the best salmon we've both tried and a very fun experience. Can't thank you all enough! *Side note there are a lot of bees/wasps by the lake while fishing.
