Saxapahaw General Store

Arrived at 958am on a Sunday. People were already gathered. Highly recommend getting there early. The line grew long by 11am. Food was delicious and thoughtful. Service was good. The store part needed a little attention on the essential foods but it was a Sunday and the only general around for 15 miles. Selection was still great for the location. Super awesome experience. Can't wait to return.

Kevin Gilley is hands down one of the best chefs in this area, it was a pleasure to eat his delicious culinary creations. We had incredible sausage biscuits and gravy that was to die for. Thank you Kevin for such a lovely meal and thank you for helping make a place that used to mean so much to me mean something good again. You do good here sir and you’re a wonderful chef.

We love the drive to get to this place. It's out of the way, but it's worth it. Prices are on the higher side, but the food is high quality. Wait times can be a little long, but getting there for an early lunch usually helps. The store always has local products for sale. Staff is always very friendly. We keep going back.

Food good but expensive and very slow $12.99 catfish sandwich no sides was told a small side was $5 waited over a hour and they wasn't that busy)

My wife and I are staying in town for the month for work and we were recommended the General Store by a local. This place is so great! Great beer selection, great food, and even better staff. We were making pizza one night at home and forgot to buy mozzarella, closest store was the General Store they didn’t have any on the shelves so the nice man weighed out 1lb of mozz from the kitchen. He went out of his way to help me and I thank him so much. Will be back before we leave for more beer and Sandwiches!
