Vasili's Greek Cuisine - Akron

Yasu!! How are you? This restaurant is fantastic! The Gyro Supreme was generously filled with fresh toppings and the tzatziki sauce was perfect. The TIROPITA (Greek Cheese Pie) was amazing! This place deserves to be busy all the time. I have to say, this is one of the best Gyros I've had in this area, if not the best! I will definitely come back to try more dishes. Who would have thought, an Irish chef making excellent Greek street food!

Vasilis is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant where the staff greet the regulars by name. I make it a point to dine here weekly. Tommy, Corie, and Kim serve the most delicious and authentic Greek cuisine in the area. I always recommend Vasilis to my friends and family when they are in town. Believe me when I tell you that you won't be disappointed. It's rare to find local restaurants like this, so let's show our support and help keep Vasilis thriving!

Be cautious when asking the staff questions as they are not knowledgeable about the outdated menu posted. I called to place a pickup order over the phone, but my card had to be locked, so I have been relying on tap to pay transactions. The website indicated that they accept Apple Pay, but when I inquired about it, the lady on the phone seemed frustrated. I placed my order and when I arrived to pick it up, their system was unable to process my tap to pay, even though there was clearly enough money in my account. The staff quickly declined me service and took the food away. It's a shame because I used to order from them regularly, but now I am a lost customer. I went next door to another restaurant and spent twice as much using the same payment method without any issues.

Delicious! Everything was very fresh and the service was lovely. Good sized portions for the money! We'll be back!

I have been coming here since they opened in the early 2010’s. It literally never disappoints. Even with a change in ownership a couple years ago, this place never missed a step. The gyro is the best in Akron by far. Grape leaves are made in house, not canned like most places locally. Don’t even get me started on the cod platters and other weekly specials (I’m looking at you lamb shanks). Akron needs more businesses like this. They show up every day and make high quality food with friendly family service. No shortcuts. Just authentic Greek quinine done at a high level and fair price. I will be a customer as long as they choose to stay open.
