Mamie's Cafe - Aberdeen

Showed up at 730pm for dinner after baseball. The place was only half full. Nice decor and atmosphere. We are from out of town. We were seated immediately, got our drinks and were given some pickled beets. We ordered a cheese steak, fish,a salad andoysters/crab. Waited 90 minutes for food. They closed at 9pm and at 855p the only thing we had been given was asalad. Unfortunately the wait staff didn't tell us there would likely be a long wait. They never apologized or took ownershipfor the experience. Staff was politely negligent, preferring to avert their eyes and ignore us each time they walked by. Theywere clearly understaffed. Another local diner said they'd never seen the place like this. The cooks were prioritizing carryout orders instead of diners. And some large carry out orders.We decided to pay for the salad and leave. I would not recommendthis place unless they are able to hire new staff.

Awesome place to eat for delicious meals along with decent portions. The restaurant decorations take you back in time. I sit at a different table have a different view. The staff is very friendly and make you feel at home. Everything is cooked fresh,so factor that in when going there to eat. Dinner peak hours are busy with dine in and pickups. They offer a free desert withyour Entree. I like the menu selection and the daily specials are great as well. I highly recommend this restaurant for familydinners or group gatherings. The BBQ ribs and half chicken special which I had to take most of home with me.

I didn't take any pictures of the food because it looked so delicious! The beef roast, crab pretzels, and dessert were amazing. The restaurant plays 1950s music, making it a perfect spot for comfort food. It was quite tranquil when we visited on a weekday around 4 PM, making it a nice place for a date, and the staff was fantastic!

Some may consider it somewhat expensive, but it's definitely worth it. The food is delicious, and the portions are generous enough to provide two meals. The staff is friendly and courteous. Charming little spot! I can’t believe it took me so long to finally visit! The decor alone is worth the trip. The food was enjoyable, although I’ll need to return since I was only about a week into my recovery from COVID, and my taste wasn't fully restored yet. Honestly, it still isn’t quite back to normal even after a month. Despite that, I had a lovely dinner, and the server was very pleasant.
