なかむら Jiā - 湖南市

This restaurant is filled with a very Showa retro atmosphere. The set meal with katsudon is priced at 730 yen, which offers excellent value for money. I had the katsudon on its own and found it quite delicious. The broth was just right and I couldn't stop eating with my chopsticks. The side dish comes with two pieces of pickled radish, staying true to the basics. The miso soup with yuzu added a pleasant touch. It's a place where you can quickly stop by, enjoy your meal, and leave just as quickly. That's the kind of place Nakamura-ya is. It's a restaurant that you can visit regularly. The atmosphere of the “noodle and donburi” dishes of the Showa 40-50s drive-in is still alive! Maybe the prices are also the same as back then, with the highest price being 720 yen for the katsudon udon set. The katsudon by itself is only 650 yen, with soup and pickles included. The soup even has a slice of yuzu floating in it, truly impressive. They also make a really good cup of coffee, with a wonderful aroma, for just 280 yen. It's better than most coffee shops.

I ate soba here 2 years ago. It was the most delicious soba I have ever had in my life. I definitely want to go back again. Please don't go out of business during the COVID-19 pandemic.
